My Mom and I love to sew, and since Christmas was coming up, so I wanted to sew her something really special, so I went looking on Youtube for an interesting idea she could use in her sewing room. I found this beautiful mini quilt block pincushion video tutorial by The Last Homely House, on YouTube. If you sew, you completely understand that we seamstresses collect a lot of pins, glass pins plastic round headpins, headpins, etc… The list goes on and on, so a variety of pincushions makes perfect sense! This mini quilt block pincushion that I found on Youtube was so gorgeous, I knew my Mom was going to love it. I already had a piece of vintage velveteen printed fabric and a few gorgeous antique buttons I bought from an antique fair in Fredricksburg, Texas that was perfect for the project. I started by getting my materials together, my antique fabric, buttons, 100% cotton thread, thread snips, fabric scissors, pinking shears, a handful of polyester stuffing, a few fabric pins, and a chopstick or corner stick.
In this beautiful mini quilt block pincushion video tutorial by The Last Homely House, on YouTube, you will learn how to make this awesome project in a few easy steps. You begin by making your 2 squares and cutting the decorative fabric strips.
Then, you will sew both sides right sides together, then stuffing with the polyfill. You will then add your decorative button to the middle of your project.
