If you haven’t found the right snack or dessert to make yet, then you might want to give this classic recipe a try. This is a version inspired by how our Grandmas would usually make southern fried apples! Thanks to Divas Can Cook on YouTube for this nostalgic childhood favorite treat.
Step 1
Wash the apples before or after your peel their skin. Peel the apples, then remove their core, and start cutting them into even slices. Place a skillet on a stove over medium heat, then melt some butter before adding the apples, and drizzle them with lemon juice. Bring the apples to a simmer until most of the butter is absorbed and the apples are tender. Make sure not to overcook the apples as they should be firm to the touch, yet tender with a little give to the bite.

Step 2
Stir the sugars together before you sprinkle them over the apples, then give them a nice toss until well combined, and lower the heat if needed. Let the apples cook until the sugar has dissolved completely and it has reached a syrup-like consistency. Remove the pan from the heat, then sprinkle the apples with some cinnamon, and give them a good toss to distribute the cinnamon evenly. Transfer the apples to a serving plate, then serve them while still piping hot, and enjoy!
