Pork rinds or pork skin crackers are the best snacks and the perfect pair for your favorite beer. It is super crispy, savory, and so addictive. They are pretty easy and simple to prepare, but you have to be patient if you want to get the best results. Ingredients:

  • 1kg or 2.2 pounds of pork skin
  • 1½ tablespoon of salt
  • ½ tablespoon of chicken powder

Directions:

Step 1

Remove and cut the fat off of the pork skin, then make sure to remove all the leftover fur or hair as well. Make sure to wash and clean the skin well, then place them in a large pot, and fill it with water. Place the pot on a stove, then use medium to medium-high heat, and bring it to a boil. Make sure to add about 1 tablespoon of salt as well. Let the pork skin cook for about 30 minutes. After cooking the pork skin, remove it from the pot, then wash it with cold water, and drain it well. Slice the pork skin into small pieces about half an inch thick and 2 inches long.

Step 2

Transfer them to a large bowl, then sprinkle about half a tablespoon of chicken powder and half a tablespoon of salt, and use your hands to toss everything together until each pork skin is well seasoned. Leave it to rest for about 2 hours to let the flavors seep into the skin, then dry it under the sun for about 2 to 3 days, this step lets the pork skin puff upon frying. Place a wok or deep pan on a stove over medium-high heat, pour in the cooking oil, then start deep frying the pork skin in batches so as to not overcrowd it. Fry it until the color turns light brown. Scoop out the fried pork skin and transfer it to a serving plate lined with paper towels to drain off the excess oil.
