Butter cookies are underrated and honestly is on my top 5 favorite types of cookies. I didn’t realize how simple these cookies are to make and it would be nice to switch up my baking addiction with other sweets. These are one of my dad’s favorite as well, but I know a lot of people do not like these type of cookies. There’s not a lot of ingredients required to make these cookies. I love that there’s no commentary in this video by Gracious Treatz. Just clear, simple written instructions. Plus, it’s nice to hear the baking process instead of someone talking a lot and not getting to the point of the tutorial. It’s such a calming and gracious baking tutorial to watch. The natural sounds made the video more appealing to sit through and watch. I love how in the end, it is paired with hot tea.
First, preheat the oven to 340 degrees. In a large bowl, add the room temp (or softened) butter. Add sugar and salt. Mix them using a spatula so that the sugar the fly out. Mix everything else in and sift the remaining dry ingredients until the flour disappears.
Next, transfer the dough into a piping bag with a 1M tip. Bake the cookies for 15-18 minutes. Let it cool completely before serving.
I am inspired to make these butter cookies even though no other person likes them besides my dad. This means more cookies for us. I’m going to have to try pairing these cookies with hot tea because I didn’t know that was a thing to do.
