I am always on the lookout for projects that use fabric scraps. Not only do scraps provide and eclectic charm and whimsical design options, but it just makes sense to not let anything go to waste. When I saw this lovely scrappy quilted zipper pouch by Mr. & Mrs. Thowsif on YouTube, I knew I had found a real gem. This quilted zipper pouch does not require a pattern and can be made in any size you want. You just make two squares or rectangles out of lining fabric, a top piece that can be any type of quilted block you like, and some batting. Then it is quilted using a basic horizontal top stitch across both sandwiched sections.
In this lovely scrappy quilted zipper pouch by Mr. & Mrs. Thowsif on YouTube, you will learn how to sew this little zipper pouch in a few easy steps. You start by cutting your fabric and sewing together the lining, front block, and fusible interfacing.
Then you just install the zipper between the two sections and sew together.
This is such a useful project, I ended up putting a strap on mine so I could use it as a purse.
