This DIY scalloped basket by Shabby Fabrics on YouTube is such a cute project with many uses. You can use any type of fabric based on the occasion or theme of the project. I love how Shabby Fabrics always has detailed instructions with tips shared throughout the tutorial. You can buy a kit or make your own by watching the video. I know Shabby Fabrics have a free download page on their website if you choose to make any of these projects with your own fabrics. Honestly, I prefer using my own fabrics, but buying the kit saves a lot of time and effort.
First, cut out your scalloped basket fusible foam piece using the template provided in the kit. However, if you do not have that, continue to watch Shabby Fabrics tutorial on YouTube for further instructions. Then, cut the strip pieces that go on the side and bottom of the basket.
Next, take the facing or fabric and place them right sides together with the outer strip fabric that has the fusible attached. Pin everything together, and stitch around it.
Overall, I think this is a cute way to keep organized with many things such as letters, mail, or small objects. This can be a great Christmas gift or gift idea for other seasons of the year as well.
