Table runners are great decorations to make your dining table visually appealing. If you are planning to make one at home, here is a lovely design by Liza Decor on Youtube. This might be one of the best patchworks I have ever seen. With this step-by-step tutorial, you will learn how to make a quilted table runner easily. Ready to start this your new sewing project? Watch the video below.
Cut 2 pieces of strips each measuring 2-inch with the 6 fabrics using a rotary cutter and ruler. Make 2 sets from the strips with 3 different designs of strips each. In total, you will have 4 sets since there are 2 pieces of each fabric strip.
Sew the strips of each set together with a seam allowance.
Cut the sewn strips into 4 pieces of 5-inch squares using a rotary cutter.
Get 2 squares of each pattern. Assemble into a bigger square with alternating directions of the fabric. Sew them together with the right sides facing. Do the same process for all remaining squares. Now you will have 4 pieces of squares.

Cut a 4-inch wide white fabric and sew to a side of one patchwork square. Cut the excess using a rotary cutter. Do the same for the other 2. Make sure to sew the white fabric on the same side of each square. Once done, sew them together. The top and bottom squares should not have white rectangular pieces.
Cut 2 pieces of 4 x 45 inches of white fabric and sew them to the sides. Cut the excess. If you still have 4-inch wide fabric left, sew them to the top and bottom of the table runner. Cut again the excess.
Cut a piece of fabric and batting fabric the same size as the table runner. Sew them together at the back on all of the edges and do a top stitch. Once done, sew the edge lining and you are done.
