Paper mache has been a favorite hobby of mine since I was a child, the days of endless fun my friends and I had, making so many awesome works of art from paper mache would boggle the mind. I have to say paper mache is never going to be a medium I get too old for. I was so excited when I found this awesome Youtube video by Kuti Bari that describes in great detail how to make a paper mache ladybug toothbrush holder. I could only imagine how excited my kids were going to be when they got home from their Dad’s and I had these cute ladybugs on the wall with their toothbrushes in them. I couldn’t wait to get this project started and I gathered my materials as quickly as I could only to find I had all the materials I needed between the craft cupboard and the kitchen pantry.
In this instructional video, you will learn how to begin your ladybug toothbrush holder by first making a balloon body form then covering it in newspaper clippings dipped in decoupage, that you will let dry then pop and remove the balloon.
Then you will be guided through the mounting of your ladybug’s body onto the section of wood, then adding decorative legs and craft paint.
My kids are going to love these when I finish.
