Quilting is one of the most popular hobbies people are getting worked up about these days. The technique has thrived because of them and their purpose of playing with striking colors, textures, and patterns. Basically, quilting brings out one’s creative juices.

Quilting techniques are endless. One approach that’s perfect for beginners is working with a fabric strip. Divide the fabric strips into groups of four. Light and dark strips alternate with each other. Be as creative as you go and sew each strip together.

When you’re done sewing everything in groups of four, pair two groups and lay them right sides together.  Mark 8 ½ inches and cut across to make a square block. Set aside the excess fabric.

Working on the block, cut across diagonally. Then, sew both fabrics along a ¼ inch seam along with the diagonal cut.  When done, open the fabric and neatly press with an iron to set the seam. Repeat with all the other block fabrics.

To assemble, group 4 blocks of fabric together and make a big block, so or design as you go.

Lastly, sew the 4 blocks together and neatly press them. Repeat with the other blocks and sew everything together according to how big you want your quilt project to be.
