It’s so simple and easy to make and you can finish them without even breaking a sweat! You don’t need special tools or materials either, just grab your wine corks or buy more if you want to make a bigger version of this craft, then read the procedures below, and watch the video tutorial as well.

Materials:

  • A bunch of wine corks
  • Glue gun
  • Glue sticks
  • Knife
  • Eye hooks
  • Ribbon

Directions:

Step 1

Start by creating the 4 x 5 pieces of wine cork wide base, attach the wine corks together using hot glue, then set it aside. Next, make the sides by attaching the wine corks in a standing manner, cover all sides of the base in 2 layers of corks except one short side which will become the front of the birdhouse. Make a 9 x 3 wine cork wide roof with 2 layers. Complete the empty/ front side, stack the corks horizontally in about 5 layers, leave a hole in the middle of the last 2 layers and skip 2 corks.

Step 2

Add 3 more layers of horizontal corks on each short side, then cut slants for the roof to lay on, apply hot glue then attach the roofs, leave about a half-inch gap at the top center, fill that gap with wine corks. Make sure all sides are glued with each other tightly. Lastly, screw and attach the eye hooks on each side of the roof’s center, then insert a string or ribbon to hang it on, and tie a knot at the end.
