If you don’t have a washing machine but are too lazy to hand wash your clothes, you might want to try this clever project idea by Smith & Edwards on YouTube. This DIY washing machine is so easy to make and super simple to use. This tutorial doesn’t have complicated instructions which makes it perfect even for beginners.
Step 1
Using a half-inch drill bit, drill holes at the bottom and of the bucket, then drill half-inch holes 1/3 to ½ of the way up the sides as well. Use a 2-inch hole saw and drill a hole on the lid of the bucket for the bushing, then insert the bushing, and drill half-inch holes in your plunger as well. Put the drilled bucket inside the second bucket, then place the plunger inside, and close the lid.

Step 2
Add your clothes to the drilled bucket inside the other bucket, then add a small scoop of soap followed by water. Close the lid of the bucket, then pull the plunger up then push it down to wash the clothes inside. Wash the clothes for about 10 minutes, then lift the inner bucket to drain the clothes, and transfer the bucket to another bucket of clean water. Rinse the clothes using your plunger, then lift the bucket to drain the excess water, and place the full bucket on top of the clothes to squeeze out more water. Spin the bucket to dry the clothes even more, then let the sun do the rest.
