Forget putting up or making mini traditional Christmas Trees and just make this cake recipe instead! This is the cutest and most clever cake I’ve ever seen, I don’t there’s anything more Christmassy than this one here. It also has easy steps so don’t worry about making a mistake and learn how to make this as instructed by Preppy Kitchen via YouTube. I will serve this at the holiday party this week, I’m sure the guests will love it especially the kids. Have fun making this recipe and enjoy your party this Christmas.
Cake Batter
Buttercream
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, sift the all-purpose flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar, whisk it then set aside. In a separate large bowl, combine the sour cream, milk, melted butter, egg whites, and vanilla extract, then whisk. Pour the batter onto the dry ingredients and whisk until it becomes smooth. Spray 3 round pans with baking spray then pour the batter on each one. Bake it in a preheated 350°F for about half an hour or until the center becomes springy.

Step 2
Mix the butter, salt, and sugar slowly while adding the confectioners’ sugar gradually, then add some peppermint extract. Divide the buttercream into two equal batches, then add green food coloring on one portion while the other remains white. Get the cake and transfer to a cooling rack once they’re done baking, after cooling down start layering the cake at the bottom, pipe the top with white and green buttercream, then repeat the process until the final cake piece. Cover the cake completely with white buttercream, smooth the sides and the top.
Step 3
Cut the ice cream cones in half lengthwise, make smaller versions of the cone by cutting down its size. Then attach them on the sides, pipe them with green using a star tip to turn them into Christmas trees. Place whole smaller cones on top of the cake, then pipe it again with green. For the finishing touches, dust it with powdered sugar.
