Staying in the house can get pretty boring and with the craft stores not being open you may be looking for projects to make that only involve very basic materials you already have in the garage or pantry. This cardboard vase tutorial that I found on Youtube by AY TV was just the perfect project idea for such needs because you only need an old recycled cardboard box,  some masking or painters tape, and a few other things that you may already have. The best part of this project is the fact that you put it together with a hot glue gun and I love my trusty hot glue gun, I literally think I could build a house with one! I really think this

Materials:

  • Cardboard
  • A pen
  • A box cutter (Exacto knife or scissors)
  • An inside roll of aluminum foil
  • A hot glue gun
  • glue sticks
  • Plaster of Paris
  • Sandpaper (fine grit)
  • Gold spray paint
  • Black Spray Paint
  • Sticky backed paper

Directions:

In this video, you will learn to make this cardboard vase from start to finish, with specific instructions one cutting dimensions, covering and painting techniques. You start by cutting the side vase contour pieces and attaching them with your trusty hot glue gun.

Make a large vase out of cardboard and plaster of paris

Then you will cover the whole thing with masking tape or painters tape then you cover that with plaster of Paris and sand it down after it dries completely, with fine grit sandpaper to prep it for spray painting.

Make a DIY mid century modern vase with cardboard and a glue gun
