I love the idea to make something useful and beautiful like this bag. It’s pretty cool to see how jeans can be repurposed to a woman’s bag. This tutorial by DIY Crafts TV seems complicated, but it takes patience. I love the floral design on this bag and bucket totes are popular again. This is a great creation for those who have old jeans lying around and want to make something that’s unique. I am amazed how this bag turned out and it’s very inexpensive to make. Taking old jeans to make a bag from scratch may be hard to figure out, but such an innovative idea. It’s cool to see from start to finish how this purse started off as. I think this is a great summer or spring bag to carry with a simple casual outfit.
First, cut your old jeans into a diamond shape. Then, get your interfacing fabric and iron it on top of the jeans fabric piece. Follow along with DIY Crafts TV tutorial video on YouTube because the measurements are on screen.
Next, once you have all of your fabric pieces cut, start sewing them together. Remember to use different shades of jeans and another fabric pattern to add a nice design touch to the bag.
Overall, I think this is a great idea to upcycle a pair of jeans that you can no longer fit or will throw away. I always admire those who are able to recreate things from tutorials that are complicated and complex. One of the reasons why I love this specific project is the style of bag. Bucket tote bags are super trendy right now.
