Homemade potholders make any kitchen homey and inviting, and they are not difficult to make at all. When I found this 10-minute potholder video tutorial by The Sewing Room Channel, on YouTube, I was confident I had found the easiest potholder ever. Not to mention, this is one of the most wonderful scrap buster ideas I have ever found. The look of this potholder is a down-home scrappy style, that adds farmhouse cuteness to any kitchen.

Materials For 10-Minute Potholder:

  • Fabric scraps (or 1 fat quarter will make 2 potholders)
  • 8 1/2 inch square of  fabric (for each potholder)
  • 8 1/2 inch square of batting (as many as you need for the number of potholders you are making)
  • A rotary cutter
  • A cutting mat
  • A sewing machine
  • Thread
  • A pair of scissors

In this 10-minute potholder video tutorial by The Sewing Room Channel, on YouTube, you will learn how to make this quick scrappy potholder in a few easy steps. You begin by cutting 9 (3 inch) squares and 1 (81/2 inch) square of fabric and batting. Then sew your (3-inch) squares together.

Then, you will sew all three layers right sides together, then level a small opening to turn right sides out. That opening will be the space where you put your loop to hang the potholder in the kitchen.
