Bring some life to your garden and give your home the transformation it needs this spring season! Learn how to install a paver walkway on your own through this video tutorial by Fix This House on YouTube.
Step 1
If you have an old paver walkway, then start by removing them. Measure the size of the new paver you’re going to install, then apply this measurement to the area where you’re putting them. Install a steel peg on each end of the walkway, then tie a string on each steel, double-check the size before spraying black paint over the string line. Remove the string and steel peg, then start digging the area, you can also use a pickaxe to make the process faster and easier. Scoop out the dirt and level the area. Measure the height and make sure that it’s even, use a tamper tool to flatten the area. Transfer the excess dirt on a wheelbarrow.

Step 2
Lay down a weed barrier mat all over the area, then place an edger around so that you can have a nice and clean edge. Install metal pegs to hold the mat and edger in place. Lay down the paver base and use a bow rig to even the gravel, flatten, and use a tamper tool to adjust the area’s height so that the paver could be leveled with the ground once installed. Pour the paver sand all over and smoothen it out evenly, then start installing your new paver stones, making sure it’s level to the ground beside it. Place pebbles around and fill the gaps.
