Instead of buying your favorite herbs from the store, try growing them in your house instead, and enjoy an unlimited supply of them that you can use in a lot of food that you want to cook. This video tutorial by Audrie Storme on YouTube will show you what type of herbs you can plant and teach you how to properly prepare them, and what makes this even better is that you can grow them indoors without using soil.
Step 1
Place the glass bottle in a window facing a lot of sunlight, then fill it with room temperature tap water about 1/3 full, and make sure to leave enough space at the top of the glass. Snip the herb stem diagonally using sterilized shears, make sure to cut a node with established leaves on top, then trim the leaves off where the stem will sit in water, and then place the cuttings in the glass bottle.

Step 2
You can put about 2 to 3 cuttings per bottle depending on the size, then make sure that none of the leaves gets wet to prevent bacteria from growing and place them in an area where there is a lot of humidity and good air circulation. If there’s not enough humidity in your place, you can try to cover the container with a plastic bag instead or use a humidifier, and you can also try placing your plant in your shower so that it can benefit from the steam in your water.
Step 3
Remember to keep an eye on and fill up the water if it’s getting low, then change the water every 3 to 5 days to keep it fresh and avoid murkiness or fungi from growing. You can transplant them in soil after the roots have grown about an inch long or you can continue to grow them in water some more. To have healthier plants, add some nutrients to them by using hydroponic fertilizer.
