Avocados are so incredibly good for you and I try to eat at least one a day, but I really wanted to look into growing some avocados myself and I saw this excellent tutorial to use the seed of an avocado you bought at the grocery store to make your very own avocado plant. There was nothing stopping or standing in the way of this project because all you need to do this avocado seed growing is a glass of water and some toothpicks, and of course your avocado seed. I couldn’t wait to get started and watch my precious little seed grow. I knew this little operation was going to be successful and I was already planning my orchard in the backyard.

Step One:

Take your Avocado seed and peel it then differentiate the top from the bottom and start sticking your toothpicks in at and angle.

Then stick three to four toothpicks in so your avocado seed will balance in the glass, making sure the top of the seed is facing up and the bottom of the seed will be submerged in the glass.

Then add water to your avocado seed and let sit in a sunny warm place.

Then in a few weeks, you will have a plant that can be transplanted into a pot with soil.

This is such an awesome plant, even if it doesn’t grow into a tree and yield avocados, it’s really decorative and looks nice in the garden or in the home.
