When I found this awesome way to grow a lemon tree by seed saving video tutorial by DIY Home & Garden, on YouTube, I had to try this wonderful idea. We get all of our heirloom varieties of vegetables from careful seed saving, and as it turns out it is not difficult to do yourself. Lemons are just about everyone’s favorite, and the seeds from them are probably the easiest to save. You will be better off saving self-pollinating vegetables, so the cross-pollination process doesn’t get too involved. With a self-pollinating variety, your seed will come true next year with no problems. The other easy seeds to save are grapefruits, oranges, tangerines, clementines, and limes.

  • A lemon (or piece of another citrus fruit)
  • A small paring knife
