If you can’t go to a hairdresser but badly needed to have your bangs cut, then try doing it at home instead. Thanks to this simple method of cutting and styling bangs or fringe by Chloe Gillian on YouTube!

Materials

  • Sharp hair cutting shears
  • Comb
  • Fine tooth comb
  • Hair straightener

Directions:

Step 1

First, section your bangs out by making a pyramid line on the front hair, if you want thicker bangs, then pick a wider pyramid, but if you want it to appear wispier, then pick a thinner piece. Clip the rest of your hair at the back and leave the bangs section, comb them nicely, then clip them flat using your cutting hand, twist it toward your face until your fingers are facing you, clip it with your other hand, and finish the twist. Hold them there and make sure to keep them down and close to your face to prevent them from becoming layered.

Step 2

Start point cutting them for a softer feathered edge until the desired length, do this little by little up to just about the middle of your nose bridge. Next, part your bangs in half, then clip the other half, then comb the other, and clip them between your fingers. Pull the section of hair you’re holding to the opposite side, then start cutting it straight, do the same to the other section of hair, you can take a bit from the other side to use it as a guide, just make sure that you don’t cut the guide. You can pull them all forward to even out the shape if you want, when you’re contented with the length and shape, you can start styling them.
