It’s the season of giving. With all the gifts you need to wrap, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Using gift wrap paper can be a bit difficult, especially if you haven’t tried it before. That’s when a gift bag comes in! All you need to do is place it inside and either tape it or use a stapler to close it, and that’s it. No need to figure out the right folds and how to keep the edges clean and neat.

But did you know that you can close a gift bag without tape or staples? Yes, it’s actually an easy gift-wrapping technique by Andrea Jean Cleaning. You don’t even need scissors or glue to do it. Just take note that the trick will only work with gift bags that have aglets. These are the small plastic on the end of the strings. You can find them in most gift bags, but some brown paper bags may not have them. Try this method next time and share it with your friends.
Take one of the strings on one side of the bag and loop it through the other side. Get the other string on the same side and loop again to the other side. Now, you have two strings that have been pulled through.
The next thing you need to do is repeat the same process with the strings on the other side. Just loop them through just like what you did on the first step.
Take the two sides and gently pull until the bag closes. The aglets (the plastic on the end of the string) will keep the strings in place. If you want to open your bag all you need to do is pull in the center.
