Materials:

  • large plastic bag
  • oven racks
  • dishwasher tablet
  • 3 – 4 tbsp baking soda

Directions:

Step 1

To start, remove your oven racks and place them in a large plastic bag. In a bowl, add hot water and 1 dishwasher tablet. Soak the tablet until it fully dissolves, then add 3 – 4 tbsp baking soda. Mix well, making sure everything dissolves nicely. Once done, pour the mixture into the plastic bag with the racks. Tightly tie the bag closed, then place it on a towel-lined surface flatly. Leave it for one and a half hours (when the racks are very dirty, leave them soaking overnight).

Step 2

Once done, open the plastic bag and remove the oven racks. When there is still some grease, just lightly rub it with a sponge and the dirt will come off easily. Rinse the oven racks under running water, then dry them with a kitchen towel. Place the racks back into the oven once done.
