Cleaning ceiling fans is tedious as it is, especially when the fan blades are covered with dust. I personally hate cleaning ceiling fans in our home because of all those layers of dust, and it’s nearly impossible to clean them without a mess. But recently, I had enough, so I searched for some ways to clean them effectively. While browsing Youtube, I found this really cool trick from Kristina Smallhorn. It’s so genius and effective that it’s the only way I’m cleaning our ceiling fans from now on! All you need for this trick is just an old pillowcase and a ladder, simple as that. Now, I don’t worry anymore about dust getting on my floors or couches and dirty clothes from all that ineffective cleaning. Possible allergies are also out of the picture. Materials:

  • small ladder, for easier ceiling fan access
  • old pillowcases

Directions:

Step 1

Take one old pillowcase, get on the ladder (if you can’t reach the ceiling fan and for easier access), and put it over on one of the blades of the fan. Pull it slowly and carefully towards you. With this, you will get all the dust inside the pillowcase.

Step 2

Repeat this step on all the blades of the fan until you completely remove all the layers of dust. By doing this, you get to clean your ceiling fans without having dust all over the place. It will also save you from possible allergies by not spreading dirt and dust everywhere.
