If you use a lot of eggs in your food, then you might want to think twice before throwing the eggshells away. You can use eggshells in a lot of different ways such as cleaning, your garden, and even turning them into a piece of decor. But, my favorite way to reuse eggshells is by turning them into fine powder or crumbs and using them to clean even the toughest burnt stuff in pots or pans.

Step 1

Fill a pot with water, then put in the eggshells, and place it in a stove over medium to medium-high heat. Bring it to a boil and leave it for a few minutes, then turn off the heat, and drain off all the water. Spread the eggshells out on a baking sheet, then place it in the oven, and let it bake over low temperature for about 1 to 2 hours.

Step 2

Once done baking, let the eggshells cool down, then transfer them to a blender or food processor, and blend them until fine crumbs. Add a spoonful of laundry detergent followed by a spoonful of baking soda, then blend them once more to incorporate, and transfer the mixture to a container. Take the burnt pot, then sprinkle the powder onto the burnt areas, and use a wet sponge to scrub it out.

Bonus: Charcoal Cleaning Hack

Put a piece of charcoal in a plastic bag, then crush it using a wooden spoon until ground, and sieve it over a separate bowl to remove any large chunks. Squeeze the lime over the ground charcoal, then mix it until paste-like texture, apply it to the burnt pot, and gently scrub it with a wet sponge.
