This homemade degreaser is so great at removing gunks and grease, plus, it smells amazing, too! But, if you’re someone who doesn’t like fragrance on your cleaning products, then opt out of adding them. You can also use premade cleaning solutions because they also offer the same results but it’s really up to your preference and depends on the factors that you want to consider such as; cost, chemical content, and convenience. For now, run to the nearest Dollar Store and grab all of the supplies that you’ll need.

Materials Needed for Stovetop Cleaning Hack:

  • Spray bottle
  • Baking soda
  • Castille soap
  • Capri blue linen spray
  • Lemon juice or essential oil
  • Microfiber cloth
  • Q-tip or cotton swab

How to Clean and Shine Your Stovetop:

Step 1

You can use Folex carpet spot remover, Goo Gone, or another premade cleaning product that you prefer, but you can also use a homemade DIY version. To make a DIY degreaser solution, simply add 1 cup of warm water to a large measuring cup (double if using a larger bottle), then add 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 2 teaspoons of Castille soap, 1 teaspoon of Capri blue linen spray, and 20 drops of lemon juice or essential oil for a fresh scent.

Step 2

Give them a good stir to combine, then pour the mixture into a spray bottle, and shake the bottle to combine the baking soda even more. Spray the solution directly on the grease, then wipe it clean with a microfiber cloth, and repeat as needed. To clean the burners, spray the degreaser on a Q-tip or cotton swab, then use it to rub the burners clean as shown in the video, and repeat as needed.
