I’ve been looking for a good way to clean my cast iron skillets that doesn’t take much time, and I think I have found my new go-to way. Cowboy Kent Rollins posted a video with the simplest way to clean a cast-iron skillet without scratching it. He also goes over how to season the pan after each use. I have never seen a cast iron skillet cleaned this way, but it works like a charm. Cowboy Kent Rollins uses just a few household items to clean it, and his method will have your cast iron looking brand new. Cooking in an iron skillet is also a great way to allow the iron to be added to your food.
Materials needed for this hack:

Make sure to use hot water and a hot iron. Using cold water on a hot pan will only crack the pan.

Cowboy Kent Rollins uses a salt method to clean his cast iron.
It works by putting a little salt onto the dried food particles and adding a smidge of water. Then lightly scrub the pan with the soft side of a dish sponge. Don’t scrub too hard on the cast iron, that can cause the salt to scratch up the pan.

To season a pan, Cowboy Kent Rollins uses olive oil. He heats the pan up and uses a lint-free rag to rub olive oil on the pan while it’s heated up to season the pores of the pan.
