Every year we get a huge crop of cherries in the Northern states of Washington and Oregon. These cherries are so delicious and I have always struggled with not being able to eat all my cherries before they go bad. I have always wanted to learn to can cherries, so when I found this fabulous canned drunk cherries video recipe tutorial by Life At Monte Cristo, on YouTube, I wanted to try it with my next batch of fresh Oregon cherries. The method of making these canned cherries was really easy to follow and I only needed a few canning supplies that I found at Walmart. I got a canning bath that came with a basket insert, a wide-mouth funnel, and some jar tongs. The mason jars can be found at Dollar Tree, Michael’s craft store, Hobby Lobby, or Walmart also.

Ingredients For The Canned Drunk Peaches:

  • 3 pounds of pitted cherries
  • 3 cups of sugar
  • 3 cups of water
  • 4 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • Grand Marnier
  • Good Bourbon (Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, etc.)
  • Mason jars
  • A jar funnel
