Preheat your oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the pecans. Toast for about 8 to 10 minutes.
Once toasted, transfer to a cutting board and chop finely. Set aside.
In a microwave-safe bowl, add the melted butter, followed by 1/2 cup of light brown sugar, 1/2 cup of white sugar, 1/2 cup of corn syrup, and 1/2 cup of condensed milk. Mix everything well with a spatula.
Place the bowl of mixture into the microwave for about six minutes.
Remove from the microwave and add the vanilla extract. Mix until incorporated.
Add the chopped pecans to the mixture and mix it well. Let it cool for a little bit.
Put your baking sheet into the freezer for a few minutes, this will help the mixture to not spread easily. Take it out and line it with parchment paper. Take a small portion of the mixture with the pecans and pour into the prepared sheet. Repeat to fill the baking sheet. Make sure to space them out. Place them in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Add the chopped chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between, until fully melted.
Put your cooled turtles inside over the tines of the fork and cover it with chocolate on top, then place on wax paper. Repeat with the remaining pieces. Put it inside the refrigerator and let it set. Serve and enjoy!
