Old-Fashioned Hamburger Helper Ingredients

  • 1 lb of ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon of ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon of mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 2 cups of macaroni
  • 3 1/2 cups of beef broth
  • 1/2 cups of sour cream
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

How to Make Hamburger Helper

Step 1:

Place a pan over medium heat, break into pieces, and cook the meat until browned. Drain the fat if you prefer.

Step 2:

Lower the heat to low then add ketchup, mustard, hot sauce, seasonings, salt and pepper, macaroni, and beef broth. Mix until well combined.

Step 3:

Place the lid and reduce the heat to a low simmer. Let it simmer for about 12 to 15 minutes while stirring occasionally.

Step 4:

Once done, remove from heat and mix in the sour cream.

Step 5:

Place back to heat and add the cheese. Mix until well incorporated then serve. Enjoy!
