Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 bay leaf
- 4 chopped red tomatoes
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of pepper powder
- salt to taste
- 1/4 cup of fresh cream
- sour cream for garnish
- bread croutons (optional)

Instructions:
Step 1:
In a pot over heat, add 1 tablespoon of butter and 2 bay leaves. Stir until the butter is melted.
Step 2:
Add the chopped tomatoes and 1/2 cup of water. Cover the pot with the lid and cook for about 10 minutes. After that, turn off the heat, remove the bay leaves, and let them cool completely.
Step 3:
Put the chopped tomatoes and the sauce into a bowl and puree with an immersion blender. Alternatively, you can put them in a high-powered blender.
Step 4:
Pour the mixture into a bowl with a strainer on top. Set aside the tomato puree, then disregard the bits and pieces left on the strainer.
Step 5:
In a clean pan, add 1 tablespoon of butter and let it melt. Add 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour and mix until it turns light brown.
Step 6:
Add the tomato puree to the pan and mix until well combined with the flour. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, salt to taste, and 1/4 cup of fresh cream. Stir until incorporated.
Step 7:
Let the soup come to a boil, then turn off the heat. Serve in individual bowls, then drizzle sour cream on top and add bread croutons. Enjoy while warm.
