Heads up, more Thanksgiving recipes are coming your way! Your dinner table should not miss out on this dish, it’s not just vegetable or cheese, but a great mix of both, doesn’t that sound amazing already? I’ve tried making this last year and believe me when I say that my guests loved it to the last bite. So don’t worry about leftovers because you won’t have any if you serve this on your table. This dish is another masterpiece of Catherine’s Plates from YouTube and if you’ve heard of her then you must know that she never disappoints.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Minced onion, dried
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 4 cans (total of 56 oz) Green beans
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 6 oz Crispy fried onions

Directions:

Step 1:

Place a large skillet pan on medium-high heat. Put 3 tablespoons of butter, melt, and bring it to a sizzle. Add 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, blend using a whisk and let it cook for 1 minute. Put 1/4 teaspoon each of salt and black pepper then mix it all. You can also add garlic depending on your preference. Put 1 tablespoon of dried minced onion then pour 1 cup of sour cream, mix until ingredients are well combined.

Step 2:

Now put 1 tablespoon of milk to thin it out a little bit then put 1/2 cup of shredded cheese then stir. Add 4 cans of drained green beans (if you’re using fresh beans, par-cook it in salt and water) then stir it together carefully. Put 3 ounces of crispy fried onion and stir until ingredients are all mixed well.

Step 3:

In a baking dish lightly greased with cooking spray, take your green bean mixture and place it in, smooth out before lightly sprinkling 1/2 cup of shredded cheese and the rest of the crispy fried onion on top of it. Cook in a 350 degrees pre-heated oven for about 25-30 minutes until the cheese has melted.
