Materials

  • jumbo size seven bulky yarn
  • fiberfill

Instructions

Step 1:

To start, you want a foot of extra yarn at the bottom, then start a slipknot. You want your loops to be approximately about four inches in diameter.

Step 2:

Take that working yarn and pull through a loop and more. This is how you create a chain and you need 30 stitches. If you want it to be a little bit bigger, you can chain more onto this maybe 15 or 20. Once created, just stretch it out a little bit, then turn it into a circle. Take the two loops, and pull a loop through both and that’s going to attach your circle.

Step 3:

Use the very back loop around the entire circle to pull up a new row of stitches. They should all be the same size, approximately four inches. Make the stitches back to back. Keep going around to get three rows in a circle.

Step 4:

You want the circle to now fold and you want your stitches to be a little closer together.

Step 5:

Your loops will still be the same size. Start the fourth row and go all the way around. Make sure they are not turning. You’ll be making a total of ten rows. Check if the stitches are placed correctly. Use the tail as the marker to count how many rows you’ve already done.

Step 6:

To close it, start with the chain and wrap that tail all the way around the back loop of the chain. Keep wrapping the stitch into the stitch on the back loop. Do not do it all at once without pulling the tail a little bit. Once you get to the end of your tail, pull it to the inside and create a knot. This will close the bottom of the pillow.

Step 7:

Put the fiberfill inside.

Step 8:

Grab two loops, take the working yarn, and pull it through two at a time. Do it all the way around until you only have a little tiny hole left. Insert the working yarn into the pillow and make an inside stitch. Cut off excess.
