Believe me, this is a very easy pattern. It may look like it’s not, but it really is. This half-square triangle quilt by Missouri Star only requires charm packs or 5″ squares. You don’t need to make two blocks with different patterns for this quilt, just one. The corners will make a secondary block when the blocks are sewn together. Read on or watch the video below for full instructions.

Get one from the printed charm packs and one from the solid charm packs. Place them on top of each other, right sides together. Sew a quarter of an inch all the way around. Cut it diagonally in both directions from corner to corner. So now you have four half-square triangles. Open them and press to the dark side. Repeat for the whole charm packs.
Divide the stack of half-square triangles into two.
Half of the squares are going to be sewn together color to color, and then half of them are going to be sewn together from white to white. Once done, press them flat.
Get one from the first stack and one from the other stack and sew them together just like in the photo below. Press it open. Repeat with the remaining units.
Get four of the patchwork and sew them together in a square with a 1/4″ seam allowance, forming a diamond in the middle just like in the photo below. Press it flat. Repeat with the other blocks.
Lay the blocks together. When you lay them together, it makes a secondary block in the middle. It will have a colored block that is bordered by white. You need four blocks across and six blocks down. This will make a quilt that is about 55″ by 77″.
