1 – Using the wrong brush

Never detangle your hair with the comb. If you’re using a comb and it catches a tangle, it’s going to go right through it and break your hair. You should use a wet brush that has flexible bristles. Start from the bottom, not the top when you are detangling your hair.

2 – Drying your hair wrong

Your hair is in its weakest state when it’s wet. Do not twist your hair with a cotton towel after you wash your hair,as it stresses your hair! Just use a microfiber towel. Place it on your hair and pat it dry. Do not rub it, just lightly press it into your hair to absorb the water.

3 – Abusing hair spray

Using too many hairspray products all the time leaves gunk on your hair which means you need to wash it often. Washing every day is terrible for your hair. If you are going to use hairspray, it should only be six seconds maximum per area.

4 –  Letting your hair dry out

After you wash, you should use a conditioner to add all the mixture back into your hair. If you notice that your mids and ends are dry even after using your conditioner, you probably let them dry. You should use a leave-in conditioner before your hair has any chance to dry out. Do not use the cream ones – get a water-based spray.
