I swear – this simple ground beef stroganoff recipe from Cara’s Recipes on Youtube tastes so good; I often serve it to my family. I prefer this recipe over many versions of this dish as adding cream of mushroom soup really elevated this one. I strongly recommend this recipe if you’re looking for a ground beef idea; you won’t regret it trust me. Watch the video below for the full recipe.
To start, bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook your egg noodles according to the package instructions. While waiting for the noodles, go ahead and heat some oil in a pan over medium heat, then cook the ground beef until browned. Once fully cooked, remove it from the heat, drain the excess liquid, and set it aside. In the same pan over medium heat, melt 3 tbsp butter, then add 3 tbsp flour and mix until combined. Next, pour 1 1/2 cups of low-sodium beef broth and stir vigorously until no lumps are left. Raise the heat to high and continue whisking until the sauce thickens.

Once the sauce thickens, lower the heat to medium and add the cream of mushroom soup. Stir it in until well combined. After this, remove it from the heat and cool it for one to two minutes, then stir in 1 cup of light sour cream. Season it with 2 tsp onion powder, 2 tsp garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste. After this, add the cooked ground beef, mix together, and simmer at low heat for five minutes. Finally, stir in the cooked egg noodles. Garnish with fresh or dried parsley, then serve.
