I was in the mall today doing some window shopping for gifts and was about to check if my cards were all in my wallet. I got frustrated with the number of cards in my purse and thought an excellent card wallet would do the trick. Being the DIY person I am, I thought of making one suited for myself. So, I went scrolling on YouTube for ideas and found one made by Ecobrisa DIY and followed her straightforward step-by-step process. I got the results I wanted by following my personal taste and made more to gift to my friends, who I’m sure are having the same dilemma as I did!

In her tutorial video, Ecobrisa DIY also provided 2 more easy gift ideas made out of cardboard tubes aside from the one I tried. Check it out in the video below as well.

Materials:

  • Cardboard tubes
  • Cardboard
  • Hot glue
  • Glue gun
  • Acrylic paint
  • Brushes
  • Wrapping paper
  • colored paper
  • Velcro
  • scissors or a blade cutter
  • Ruler
  • pencil

Directions:

Cardholder gift

Fold flat the cardboard tube. Try inserting a card to see if it fits. On the right edge of the tube, trace with a pencil and cut off half a circle on both sides using scissors or a cutter. Paint the whole tube with any acrylic paint color of your choice.  Repeat the process and make eight pieces. Make them as colorful as you want!

With cardboard, cut a 24cm x 6cm cardboard strip. From the right edge, measure 3 cm, 1 1/2 cm, 9 cm, 1 1/2 cm, and another 9 cm.  Then fold each side to make a rectangle box for reference.

For the front, cover the cardboard strip with fun wrapping paper.

On the other end, paste on a strip of plain paper. Using hot glue, put glue over the second 1 12 cm and attach the eight colorful tubes. On the front side of the strip, glue one side of the Velcro and the other side to the excess end of the strip.

Lastly, test your cards to see how they all fit in!
