Place the small round plastic container upside down and drill four holes on different sides just above the bottom. The ants will access the solution through these holes.
In another container, add 3 teaspoons of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of borax. This is only a small trap. Use the same ratio of 3 sugar: 1 borax for larger quantities. Next, pour some warm water to help dissolve the sugar and borax. Mix it well.
Adult ants leach liquid and the babies eat solids so it’s better to add both to the trap. Place the solid portion or in this case the waffle inside the small container with holes. Next, pour the liquid solution into the waffle. There will be a runoff on the bottom of the container that will be eaten by the adult ants. But you also want them to take some of the solid portions, bring the crumbs back to the colony, and feed them to the young ants. The young ants will then feed it to the queen which will wipe up the whole colony.
Put the cover back and place the trap. Leave it for a couple of days. Once it gets dry, add a little bit more of the sugar and borax solution. After a few days, you will no longer see the ants.
