7 Fun and Creative Cinder Block DIYs

Take advantage of the sunny weather. The summer season is a great time to start doing your projects. Here are 7 fun and creative cinder block DIYs you can do at home! 1. House number

Materials:

• painter’s tape
• spray paint (color of your choice)
• outdoor acrylic paint (preferably different color from the spray paint)
• small brush
• cinder block
• number sticker
• clear adhesive waterproof caulk
• small wood strips (cut in the size of the width of the cinder block)
• landscape fabric

Instructions:

Using the painter’s tape create the design that you want. Then spray it with spray paint. Once dry, remove the tape and put the number sticker on the cinder block. Using the brush and paint, color the numbers. Let it dry. Once dried, remove the sticker and glue the small wood strips on the bottom using the clear adhesive. Put the landscape fabric inside of the rectangular holes and put some soil and plant.

2. Pretty outdoor bench

Materials:

• 14 cinder blocks painted with outdoor spray paint (color of your choice)
• outdoor construction adhesive
• 4 stained and sealed 4x4s
• flowers pots

Instructions:

Stack 4 cinder blocks in a vertical position and glue the sides with construction adhesive. Then put 2 cinder blocks on top with the holes facing to the side. Secure with adhesive. Place the last one with the holes up on the top end. Do the same process with the remaining blocks. Once done, insert the 4 wood inside the holes on the second layer of cinder blocks. Then add flowers to the top cinder block.

3. Potting bench

Materials:

• 6 cinder blocks (spray painted with the color of your choice)
• 16″ x 4″ board
• 8″ x 4″ board

Instructions: 

Stack 2 cinder blocks vertically on the left and right. Then place the 16″ x 4″ on top. Add the remaining 2 on the top-end sides of the board. Put the 8″ x 4″ board on top. Place all of your plants on the bench.

4. Log holder

Materials:

• 2 cinderblocks
• 4 pieces of 41 x 4 planks

Instructions:

Stack 2 cinderblocks horizontally, then place the 4 pieces of wood planks diagonally into each hole pointing outward. Now, place all of your logs.

5. Zen garden

Materials:

• chicken wire
• plaincinderblocks
• spray painted cinderblocks
• decorations such as candles and pebbles

Instructions:

Place chicken wire inside a hole of the spray-painted cinder blocks. Stack all of the cinder blocks with the spray-painted ones in the opposite direction. The holes with wires should point outward. Place the plants inside the holes. Add decorations.

6. Front garden

Materials:

• 7 spray-painted cinder blocks
• plastic sheet

Instructions:

Stack the cinder blocks making a corner on the plastic sheet. Cut the excess plastic then add plants.

7. Outdoor bar

Materials:

• 20 cinder blocks
• landscape adhesive
• 4 stained 6 ft – 2 x 4
• 4 cinderblocks caps

Instructions:

Stack 2 cinder blocks horizontally and put one on the end in the opposite direction. Then stack 2 on the top end (at the opposite cinder block) and secure with landscape adhesive. Do the same for the other side. Once done, attach 3 wood planks on top with adhesive.  Then repeat the same 2 layers above on each side. Place the cinderblock caps and glue the last piece of wooden plank on top. Lastly, add the plants.
