I couldn’t wait to make one of these for the winter and I got busy right away! I love flannel and how nice and soft it is, plus it’s very durable and can be washed over and over again.
I’ve featured a more colorful flannel quilt because I prefer colors as opposed to the darker ones that Laura Coia uses in her tutorial.
A quilt like this is perfect for camping, picnics, and ballgames too! This plaid flannel quilt will be useful for many things…even for a quilt on a bed, which is my main purpose for making one. It’s so easy to throw in the wash and comes out even softer every time it’s washed, so you can use it for many activities.
If you are looking for an easy quilt to put together, a plaid flannel quilt is a great one to do! You just simply cut fabric squares in different sizes, the way Laura makes this quilt, or you can cut them all the same size and sew them together. They can be made for any size by simply adding more squares. Or you can change the size of the squares.
Do you have a quilt on your “to-do” list for 2018? I’ll be you do after seeing this easy tutorial.
Watch how Laura Coia, with Sew Very Easy, makes this great quilt in her step by step tutorial so you can start making one for your home!
