What she does in this tutorial is so cool…I just love it! I’m all about the old 50’s chenille look and she creates a quilt with an incredible product that makes the fabric look just like chenille!

“Chenille-It” is a faux chenille that makes no mess in the washer or dryer. It is very easy and very fun to sew with.  Ask for it at you local fabric store or you can buy it at http://www.storesonline.com/site/2384…

This product is magical! I knew I just had to try their technique. Except, the assembly process for an entire blanket seemed quite tedious, so I decided to experiment with using faux chenille the way Laura does it in the attached tutorial below.

The final blanket is washed which gives it the soft and beautiful chenille look. It reminds me of a bedspread I had on my bed when I was a little girl. I loved that blanket. It’s a part of my fond memories of childhood in the late 50’s, so I’m always drawn to anything that is chenille or looks like it the way this quilt does.

Watch how Laura Coia, with Sew Very Easy makes this awesome quilt in her step by tep tutorial.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
