This woven star quilt block idea by Carol Thelen on YouTube is one of the best quilt projects I’ve ever tried! I just love how fun and chaotic the pattern of the block looks, and I love how easy but at the same time challenging this block is to make.

You can use any combination of color or pattern of fabric that you want for this project and make it look as scrappy as you like and I guarantee you the result would be as lovely. Learn how to make this block now by watching the video tutorial below.
Step 1
Download the pattern, then cut the fabrics to size, and start working on the center of the block by making a 4-patch block unit. Arrange 4 squares together, then stitch them by pair, and then stitch the pairs to each other and give the seams a good press.

Step 2
Once done with the 4-patch block unit, place the triangles around it, and make sure to refer to the diagram. Fill the remaining spaces with the background fabric pieces, then start stitching around the middle you’ve pieced everything together, and press the seams as you go.
