Step 1
Place a large skillet or Dutch oven on a stove over medium-high heat, then heat a tablespoon of olive oil, and fry the sliced sausage for about 5 to 7 minutes or until brown and crispy. Remove the sausage and set it aside on a plate, then season the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, and cook them in the same pan until slightly cooked. Set the shrimp aside.
Step 2
Next, add another tablespoon of olive oil to the pan, and saute the chopped onion and bell pepper for about 3 to 4 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized. Add the garlic paste, then cook them for an additional 1 to 2 minutes or until fragrant, and season them with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, buttery garlic pepper seasoning, and chicken bouillon powder.
Step 3
Give them a good stir until well coated, then let the mixture cook for 1 to 2 minutes, and add the shredded cabbage to the skillet. Continue to stir until well combined, then pour in the chicken broth or water, and then cover the skillet with the lid. Let the cabbage cook for about 10 to 12 minutes while stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Now, add the cooked sausage and shrimp back into the pan, and carefully mix them together. Let them cook for an additional 4 to 5 minutes until the shrimp is cooked through. Add more broth or water if needed, then taste and adjust the seasoning to your preference, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve and enjoy!
