- 2 dining chairs
- Wood planks
- Sandpaper
- Sander
- Dust mask
- Eye mask
- Screwdriver
- Measuring tape
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Saw
- Screws
- Hand drill
- Driving bits
- Drill bits
- Primer
- Paint
- Paint brushes
How to Build an Upcycled DIY Bench:
Step 1
Remove the seats from both chairs, then measure how long you want the new seat to be, and cut the wood planks to size. Remove the front side of one chair, then use the second chair for support, save the two beams from the first chair, and use it as support for the bottom layer of the bench.
Step 2
Mark the bottom layer of the chair’s desired height, then attach the first chair and support beam together with screws, and then work on the other side of the chair and support beam as well. Repeat the previous steps for the second chair, then lay the wood planks over the bottom beams, and attach the wood planks only to the bottom beam of the first chair.
Step 2
Lay the wood planks over the top layer of the chair, then attach the wood planks to the top beam of the first chair, and proceed to remove the front part of the second chair. Attach the wood planks to the bottom beams of the second chair, then do the same on the top beams, and lay the bench on its side. Measure the length of the wood planks, then cut them to fit the length of the back of the bench, and attach them to the back. Sand the bench, then paint, and you’re done!
