If you are looking for a beautiful Christmas decor project that you can make on a budget, then this video tutorial by The Little Crafties on YouTube is definitely a must-watch for you! Using only a couple of glitter foams you can create a stunning ball ornament for Christmas that looks so professionally crafted that you’d think they were store-bought. If you want to give it a try, then read the instructions down below, and watch the video tutorial, too.

Materials:

  • Glitter foam sheet
  • Twine
  • Ruler
  • Pencil or pen
  • Scissors or cutter
  • Compass
  • Glue gun

Directions:

Step 1

Cut the glitter foam sheet into 11cm x 1cm or 4.3″x 0.39″ inches with a total of 9 strips from each color, then trim off the short edges to make them pointed cutting away 1.5cm or 0.59″ from top to bottom slanted, and then set them aside.  Cut 1 piece of foam at 9.5cm x 5.5cm or 3.7″x 2.1″ inches and 1 piece at 2cm x 5.5cm or 0.7″x 2.1″, then hot glue them into a cylinder using the smaller piece as a brace as shown in the video, and then adhere a round foam with a 1.5cm or 0.59-inch radius on each hole. Mark the center of the cylinder’s top and bottom, then dab glue on the top midpoint, and adhere the strip of foam beside each other until the top of the cylinder is covered.

Step 2

Flip the cylinder over, then adhere the other color of strips the same way, and place them offset with the strip on the opposite side. Adhere the other end of the strip to the opposite side of the cylinder to form the ball ornament, then repeat with the other set of strips, and set it aside. Cut a small strip of glitter foam, then place a small loop of twine at the end, and secure it with hot glue. Roll the strip over, then secure the end with hot glue, and adhere it to the piece at the top center of the ball.
