I have a favorite sweater that I always want to wear especially when I’m going outside during cold weather. But, over time this favorite sweater of mine got torn and now has a small hole in it. I was really down about what happened and I still want to wear it, but I’ve got to fix it first.

I’m not entirely an expert in sewing but this video tutorial by Annika Victoria on YouTube was so helpful in guiding me on how to fix the hole in my sweater in a super easy way. After sewing the hole, it was so neatly done that the repaired area was almost invisible, you wouldn’t even notice that there was a hole there to begin with. Check it out and see for yourself!
Step 1
First, turn your sweater inside out, lay it down on the darning egg or a water bottle, and ensure the hole is exposed. Hand stitch around the hole’s edges, but don’t pull the stitches just yet.
Step 2
Once done, sew a lattice pattern across the hole as shown in the video, then weave the needle up and down through the knit, and gently pull the hole closed but don’t pull the stitches too tight.
Step 3
Now, go up and down over the hole in the opposite direction until it is closed off, then tie the thread by inserting it through the back, and push it under the loop to make a knot. Pull it tightly to secure the stitches and cut off the excess.
