#1: Wrap EDC Lighters with Duct Tape

Always wrap some duct tape around the lighter that you carry with you wherever you go. There are a lot of uses with duct tape such as a firestarter because it lights up pretty easily, you can also use it to patch up holes in your tent, and other things you can think of.

#2: Spent Lighter Hack

If your lighter runs out, take out your knife, then make very fine shavings of the plastic, and carefully roll off the striker over the pile of tinder without making a spark until you have a good layer of Ferro dust. Now, roll the striker to make a spark, then quickly put a piece of duct tape over the top to get the fire going.

#3: Boot Lace Upgrade

Replace your standard boot laces with paracord, the main benefit with this is that it will never break, and it’s more versatile and useful. Simply cut the paracord to the same length as your boot laces, then heat the ends to lock it in and make it stiff, and push it through the eyelet of the boots tying it like you usually wood.

#4: Paracord Wrapping Technique

Roll the paracord and leave about 4 to 5 feet of tail, then wrap the tail over itself, and pull it tight. Keep wrapping and pulling as you go, then stick the tail of the paracord back on top, continue wrapping, and loop it over itself. Tuck the tail under a couple of wraps, then pull it tightly, and store it in your bag.
