It’s been a long time since I last tried painting and it was because of a subject in school, I kind of liked it but not enough to pursue that as a full-time hobby at the time. But recently, I got so bored and since I don’t have a new craft to get my hands on, I decided why not try painting again?

How to Paint a Sunflower Field for Beginners:

Step 1

Add lines of white, blue, yellow ocher, light green, and dark green paint on the canvas as demonstrated in the video, then make left and right strokes that are slightly diagonal and downward to merge the paint starting from the very top and working your way down, and make sure to do this per row.

Step 2

Grab a sponge and use the rough side to pat down the paint and make a blurred texture, then use a comb with a wide gap to create short upward strokes on the yellow part to make the grass. Dip a small paintbrush in white paint, then tap its body on another brush or a stick over the canvas to make small white splatters or dots, and blow it dry to speed up the process.

Step 3

Cut one end of a plastic straw into small strips, then push them upward to make a flower-like shape, and make different sizes and diameters with other straws. Dab the straw in yellow paint, then stamp it on the green part of the canvas, twist, and dab again.

Step 4

Do the same with other paint colors and sizes, then fill the field with as many flowers as desired, and add the details using cotton balls clipped in clothespins. Finish the paint by adding details to the sky and painting the clouds as shown in the video, then allow it to dry completely, and you’re done!
