Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F, then grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray, and set it aside. In a medium-sized bowl, add the cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, then whisk everything together until combined, and set it aside.
Step 2
In the bowl of a stand mixer, add the butter and sugar, then beat them over medium speed until light and fluffy, add the vanilla, and keep beating to combine. Add the eggs one at a time while continuously beating until fully combined, then in a separate bowl, mix the buttermilk and Greek yogurt, and beat them over medium-high speed.
Step 3
Reduce the speed to low, then add the flour mixture in 3 additions alternating it with the buttermilk mixture, and transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan. Spread it evenly and smoothly, then tap the pan sharply on a surface to reduce air bubbles, then place the sliced strawberries all over the top in a single layer.
Step 4
Place it in the preheated oven, then allow the cake to bake for about 25 to 28 minutes or until the top and edges are golden and a toothpick inserted at the center comes out clean. After baking, place the pan on a wire rack, then allow the cake to cool completely, and prepare the frosting.
Step 5
In a large mixing bowl, add the butter, cream cheese, and salt, then beat them over medium speed until smooth, add the vanilla, and keep beating to combine. Add the powdered sugar one cup at a time while beating continuously over low speed, then scrape the sides, and increase the speed to medium-high speed beating the frosting for 1 minute until light and airy.
Step 6
Dollop the prepared frosting over the top of the cooled cake, then swirl it, and transfer the cake to the fridge to chill for about 20 minutes. After chilling the cake, top it with freshly sliced strawberries, then serve, and enjoy!
