I have made a few sewing projects before and each time I would always have lots of leftover fabrics that I would put in my stash for future use. However, we all know that is not gonna happen anytime soon because it’s always fun to buy new and colorful fabrics even though we don’t know where to use them yet! But, in this video tutorial by Just Get it Done Quilts on YouTube, she is going to make sure that no fabric would go to waste with this lovely and super easy quilt idea. Check this out now and put every fabric in your stash to good use.
Step 1
Arrange your fabric strips from darkest to lightest, then pair every two strips until you’ve reached the lightest set, and number them in order from 1 to 20. Cut the fabric strips according to the pattern instructions, then lay fabric piece 1 with its right side facing up, and place fabric piece 2 on top of the right side with its right side facing down as shown in the video. Sew them together, then press open, stack the fabric piece on the left side, sew, and press nicely. Continue stacking them on the sides alternately until you’ve reached fabric piece 20, then repeat the same process with the 3 remaining sets, and make sure to press every now and then.

Step 2
Once done sewing each unit, stack 2 units together with their right sides facing and edges matching, then sew them together on their long and straight edges, and do the same with the other 2 units. Now, lay the pieced units together with their right sides facing and edges matching, then sew them together on their long and straight edges, and press nicely. Add the borders, then backing, and quilt however you want.
