Sometimes we forget to clean or take care of certain appliances or areas in our house for many reasons, and when we do decide to finally tackle the obvious problem, it already has a lot of buildup. However, sometimes even when we clean our appliances, they can still accumulate some rust spots.

Step 1
Gather all the supplies that you need, then in a small bowl or container, add a little amount of baking soda, and a drizzle of water. Give them a good stir until well mixed or paste consistency, then find the grain of the steel, and go in that direction when you rub the paste.
Step 2
Now, soak a paper towel in the cleaning paste, then rub it on the rusty spot, and make sure to go along the grain. The baking soda will serve as a mild abrasive, it can help loosen up the rust without damaging the steel itself.
Step 3
Remove the dry portion of the baking soda mixture on the steel by wiping it clean with a paper towel, then once done, rinse it off by wiping it clean with a wet paper towel, and dry it with a dry paper towel. Leave the steel to air dry completely before buffing and polishing it with whatever product you prefer.
